Innovative Bunker Provides Vital Support To Air Force Program
The Armag 3-Bar Earth Covered Magazine (ECM) is a steel box type ECM that provides the highest density of explosives storage available from Armag. It is designed in accordance with DESR 6055.09M with a 3-bar headwall designation, which allows for reduced intermagazine distance (IMD) and reduced intraline distance (ILD). The Armag 3-Bar ECM has a mid-level storage capacity, able to store up to 50,000 lbs. net explosives weight (NEW). It is premanufactured, making it a time saving and cost effective alternative to traditional ECMs, which require significant construction.
The Armag 3-Bar ECM has received a protective construction designation from the Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board (DDESB), having demonstrated its ability to withstand blast loads from adjacent sources. Its structural design and safety engineering has additionally been adopted into TP-15, the DDESB’s record of significant evolutions in protective construction designs. Designed and constructed in accordance with UFC 3-340-02 (Structures to Resist the Effects of Accidental Explosions), the 3-Bar ECM meets or exceeds all safety requirements.
The Armag 3-Bar ECM is completely prefabricated at Armag’s secure production facility and delivered fully assembled, ready for placement. Its robust steel construction and modular design make it cheaper and faster to deploy than traditional concrete magazines, and easy to transport world-wide.
The Armag 3-Bar ECM comes equipped with everything it needs for rapid deployment, safe and secure explosives storage and rugged durability that will last for decades. Features include:
