Earthen Covered Magazines – earth covered
explosives storage magazines are considered ‘barricaded’
by the ATF and generally reduce the table of distances by up to one-half.
Earthen covered magazines are also used to protect neighboring storage
magazines from sympathetic detonation.

- Shell constructed of 1⁄4” ASTM A-36
prime steel plate and lined with 3” hardwood
- Hinge side protection prevents door from being
defeated by removing hinge
- Heavy duty strap door hinges
- Grounding strap on door to transfer potential
static electricity back to main structure
- Steel rectangular vent covers – vent openings
are screened with non-spark material to prevent entry of foreign objects
- Standard lift hooks provided for ease in handling
- Winged retaining walls provided to support earth

- Earthen covered portion of magazine coated with
Line-X® coating to prevent rusting and leakage
- Interior structure supported by varying sized
steel tubing – this provides strength to support earth cover
- Rear mounted stack vent with rotating wind turbine
to allow air movement in magazine
